Last week my friend and co-worker Brent Strange got what some consider (myself included) one of the best presents you can get from his wife for his birthday. What gift could be so great you ask? A 2006 Yamaha YZF R1 (the blue bike in the picture, mine is the red one). Not only did his wife ALLOW him to get a motorcycle, but she went down and got it for him. Brent has been pining over a motorcycle for sometime now and when I got mine a little over 2 months ago it became down right sad. So needless to say he was very "moved" when he walked out into the garage to a shiny new blue R1 (he denies it, but I'm pretty sure I saw tears).
The best part of the whole day was Brent was convinced he was getting the bike and that I was going to ride it over to his house. So on the day of the party I show up at 1PM and no one is home. Best part of being punctual... Brent and family arrived a few minutes later. Brent was slightly disappointed to see my bike in the driveway. It seemed this killed any hope of him getting his dream bike. Then as he was opening his present from his wife, a model Yamaha R1, that he eventually noticed a key taped to the back of it. A look of confusion, then disbelief and then reality set in. And the rest is history.
Happy Birthday & Congratulations Brent! Lets Ride!
